DI CHIRICO, Giacomo Maria Antonietta Picone Petrusa Nacque a Venosa (Potenza) il 27 genn. 1844 da Luigi e da Caterina Savino. Il padre morì quando egli era ancora piccolissimo, nel 1848. Il primo apprendistato nel disegno avvenne con il fratello Nicola (Venosa, 23 febbr. 1824), che era scultore; nel 1865 ottenne dal Municipio di Venosa una pensione per studiare pittura a Napoli nei due anni.
